The icon well
The icon well in a List window is only visible if a single item is selected in the list. If visible, you can use it to access the following features quickly.
Open a Viewer for a file
Double-click the icon in the icon well to open a Viewer if the currently selected item is a file.
Opening a folder in a new list window
Double-click the icon well to open a new List window containing the contents of a currently selected folder.
The icon well contextual menu
Control- click or right click the icon well to show a menu containing the following commands:
Help
Open the help in Help Viewer to the page describing the icon well.
Get Info
Open a File Buddy Info window for the selected item.
Open
Open the selected item as if it were double-clicked in the Finder.
Show in Finder
Open the selected item's containing folder in the Finder.
New Viewer
Opens a new Viewer for the selected file. Only available for files.
View Contents in New List
Opens a new List window containing the contents of the selected folder. Only available for folders.
View icon family
Open a window displaying all available icon formats and sizes for the icon of the selected item.
Show in Finder
The items in this submenu are the selected item and all its parent folders. Selecting anything from this submenu will show that object in the Finder.
File Viewers
